Reading Ranger Storytime at Cedars of Lebanon State Park

Storytime, then straight outdoors. At the Nature Center inside Cedars of Lebanon State Park, an interpretive ranger reads a nature-themed picture book, and then the whole group takes a short, gentle stroll to look for whatever the story was about.

It is built for pre-K and early readers, but children of any age are welcome and older siblings tend to appoint themselves assistant naturalists. The walk is genuinely short — this is a program for legs that are still fairly new at walking.

What to know before you go: dress for the weather and put everyone in real shoes, because the stroll goes outside regardless. Younger children will want a hand with the craft, and a parent or guardian needs to stay with their child for the whole program.
