Cedar Glade Wildflower Hike at Cedars of Lebanon
The cedar glades are the reason this park exists, and they are genuinely rare — thin soil over limestone, baking in the sun, growing plants that live almost nowhere else on Earth. A ranger walks you through them and explains how anything survives out there at all.
Late afternoon is a good call. The light is better for photos, the limestone has stopped radiating heat, and the walk finishes in time for dinner.
Bringing kids? The rocky footing is the thing to plan around — closed-toe shoes with some grip, not sandals. Curious school-age kids do well here because there is something to look at every few steps; toddlers will find the uneven ground hard going.
