Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Armed Felon
A routine traffic stop for a taillight violation on Mt. Juliet Road near I-40 led to the arrest of a 29-year-old Nashville man with a violent criminal history. During the stop, the driver attempted to interfere with a probable cause search by locking the vehicle and throwing the keys into the woods. Officers were able to access the car and discovered a stolen handgun in the driver’s door pocket, reported stolen out of Lebanon in 2019. The driver was arrested on charges of driving on a suspended license, possession of a stolen firearm, and felon in possession of a firearm. Thanks to the quick actions of officers, another stolen weapon was taken off the streets.
