10+ Family Things to Do Around Mt. Juliet This Week
Breeden's Orchard is carrying the calendar this week as the orchard swings into its fall rhythm, and the long weekend is a good excuse to work through the free places around Mt. Juliet and Wilson County that are easy to forget about. Here is what is on from Thursday through next Wednesday.
1. Pizza Night at Breeden's Orchard — Thursday evening
Wood-fired pizza on the orchard grounds with room for kids to run while you wait. It is relaxed, outdoors, and the closest thing Wilson County has to a standing weeknight family tradition. Thursday details.
2. Story Time at Breeden's Orchard — Friday morning
A morning story session at the orchard, pitched at the preschool crowd, with the farm setting doing a lot of the work. Pair it with a walk around the grounds afterwards. Friday morning details.
3. Friday Night Market at Breeden's Orchard — Friday evening

4. N.C. Hibbett Hall Train & History Museum — always free
Mt. Juliet's own small museum, and the train displays land squarely with kids who are in that phase. It is compact enough to be a genuine thirty-minute stop rather than an outing you have to commit a morning to.
5. Veterans Park and the Veterans Wall at the Clock Tower — always free
A short, flat walk around the clock tower with the Veterans Wall as the centrepiece. It gives older kids something real to read and ask about, and younger ones somewhere safe to burn off an hour.
6. Mt. Juliet-Wilson County Library — always free

7. Sellars Farm State Archaeological Area — always free
An open, quiet site near Lebanon with real Mississippian-era history underfoot and interpretive signage that does a decent job of explaining it. Early autumn is the right season — there is not much shade.
8. Historic Lebanon Public Square — always free
A walkable square with storefronts, benches and enough going on to make a low-effort Saturday morning. Good for a stroll-plus-snack outing when nobody wants to commit to a whole activity.
9. Bledsoe Creek State Park — always free
Lakeside trails on Old Hickory over toward Gallatin, flat enough for small legs and shaded for most of the way. The wildlife watching is genuinely good in the early evening.
10. Mt. Juliet Community Center — free grounds, city programming
The hub for Mt. Juliet Parks & Rec programs, sitting right on the Charlie Daniels Park campus so you can pair it with the playground and greenway. One caution: it is closed for Labor Day on September 7, so plan around that.
