Mt. Juliet Christmas Parade

The Mt. Juliet Christmas Parade is the closest thing this town has to a guaranteed December tradition, and it is free. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, running roughly two miles, with a rain date held on Sunday, December 13.

A late-morning start is the hidden advantage here – no fighting bedtime, no standing in the dark, and you are home in time for lunch and a nap. Bring camp chairs, a blanket and something warm to drink. Arrive 30 to 40 minutes early if you want a spot near the front of the route. Families spread out along the full length, so the middle stretches are usually easier if you are running late.

Kids should bring a bag, because candy gets tossed from floats along the way.
