Students at West Wilson Middle School got their first taste of “augmented reality,” thanks to a new interactive tool by Google!
Teachers Amy Wilken and Tami Duggan worked with Google to provide their students with the opportunity to explore natural disasters, Roman life, and check out some of the world’s buildings that are designed to withstand an earthquake. Among other things, Google AR made it possible for students to see tectonic plates in motion and view skeletal systems up close.
Wilken says, “The kids were enthralled with this. I can’t wait until they push this out so that we can use this in our classrooms. This is going to be an amazing tool for teachers to use. I like it so much better than the Google Cardboard and I really like that!”
